Haccourt - Belgium 2008 > 2012
Around the 15th of August every year, north of Liège, just like other surrounding villages, the village of Haccourt gets ready for its big summer celebration, the Cramignons. For over more than a century, this folkloric feast sees two teams face each other, the Blues and the Reds. The windows flourish with flags, the girls get their handmade dresses out, especially made for the event, and harmony orchestras strike up their repertoire. When night falls, they challenge themselves with trumpets and bass drums in the center of the village. This celebration reflects the festive and demonstrative spirit of the people of Liège. For them, folklore is an opportunity to gather family and friends in a big collective moment of joy.
